Enable manual sorting of top bar extensions
As far as I can tell, it is not possible to sort the extensions that reside in the top bar for the Gnome Shell; their position is either random or -- rarely -- controlled by the extension itself.
I posit that it is not the job of an extension to decide their position in the panel, but something that the panel itself should be responsible for. Also, 'extensions' that are part of the panel itself, e.g., the clock, should also support repositioning.
The only existing method I found to configure the position of extensions involves hacking each individual extension's .js
file, which is hardly user friendly.
