[VM] [Xorg] Screen is temporarily visible after switching back from textmode tty
I have several Linux virtual boxes who use Xorg session. Every time when I finished my typing under text mode console and switch back to gnome-shell (tty2), the desktop should be locked automatically, but the entire screen is visible for no more than 1 second just before the screensaver is activated.
Environment:
- Fedora or openSUSE Tumbleweed
- gnome-shell-3.38.3, 3.36, 40
- Xorg session
Steps:
- Login to desktop, make sure
- Wayland is disabled
-
Automatic Screen Lock
is enabled inSettings
, you can also setBlank Screen Delay
to 1 min andAutomatic Screen Lock Dealy
toScreen Turns Off
to minimize the waiting time.
- Switch to tty5, wait for gnome-shell to auto-lock
- Switch back to tty2(gnome-shell)
You can see the whole desktop before the screenbuffer changed to the lock screen.
Note:
- Wayland session works fine
- The behavior this issue is similar to #3294 but it's talking suspend and wake-up
