Keyboard switching popup doesn't disappear for >1 second if only one key is used as a shortcut
Affected version
OS: Arch Linux
GNOME: 3.36.3 on X.Org
Bug summary
When only one key (I tested Menu and grave) is used to switch keyboard layouts (Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts > Typing > Switch to next input source), the popup, which indicates the layout you switched to, appears even if the key was released immediately. And after appearing it stays on the screen for like 1 second, maybe a bit more until disappearing, when with the regular keybinding (modifier+key) it disappears in less than a second.
However, if you use the Shift+key shortcut, that is set automatically, it works fine.
Steps to reproduce
- Set the keybinding to switch to the next input source to a single key, like Menu or grave.
- Press and immediately release the key.
What happened
Popup appeared and did not disappear for more than a second.
What did you expect to happen
Popup should not appear. If the key was released not immediately, popup should disappear in less than a second, like with a regular modifier+key keybinding.
