My monitor is 2560×1440 at 144 Hz, I followed this advice to make the GDM monitor settings match the gnome-shell ones to get rid of a 60 Hz → 144 Hz modeset. My GPU is AMD RX 580 and my CPU is Intel i7-3770k @ 4.20 Hz. I have 16 GB of RAM.
