New lock screen gets stuck on unlock (TypeError: this._authPrompt is undefined)
Affected version
Ubuntu 20.04
gnome-shell 3.36.0-2ubuntu2
xorg
Bug summary
Sometimes when unlocking my laptop, the password is accepted, but I am left on the lock screen. Nothing is clickable, I cannot get past the lock screen to my desktop. I can ssh in and see the system is still running, and there's nothing running amok with the CPU, but I just can't get the system to show my desktop and running applications.
Steps to reproduce
- Use the system for a while.
- Lock the screen when going to bed.
- In the morning, wake the screen with the mouse.
- Type password in.
What happened
Kept me on the lock screen.
What did you expect to happen
Show my desktop.

This is the only error which seemed interesting / relevant in journalctl
