gnome-shell segfault when switching fonts and clicking show applications in dash panel

Bug summary
I triggered a few gnome-shell crashes when changing fonts through gnome-tweaks. After many tries I found a way to reproduce it consistently on my end.
Steps to reproduce
- Open Gnome Tweaks and change fonts e.g. Carlito Regular
- Open Dash and click 'show Applications' button in panel, use the mouse not the key shortcut.
- Go Back to gnome-tweaks and change the font back to what you had before you change it in 1)
- Open Dash and click 'show Applications' button in panel, use the mouse not the key shortcut.
Actually you can use the keyboard for 2) and 4) but you must trigger the show applications animation, meta key to show dash then meta + a

What did you expect to happen
Font to change back normally
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
I'm trying to generate a backtrace but it's failing. I'll try generating a local one if required.
