Brightness/Night Light with OLED broken
On my new Dell XPS laptop with OLED Night Light works a bit so-so. It accurately fades the colors to warmer colors in the evening, but I have no way of reducing screen brightness without reverting that. If I issue xrandr --output eDP-1 --brightness 0.5
(as the GNOME brightness controls don't work with OLED), Night Light is disabled. Perhaps --brightness X
is the same as --gamma X:X:X
which would explain the reset.
Maybe this issue is just that brightness expects a display with backlight, and once that works, Night Light will work. Don't know enough details, point me to the correct project if this is the case.
Using GNOME 3.34.1, on Ubuntu 19.10.
