Text placed into clipboard by extensions in Shell >= 3.34.1 on Xorg becomes un-pastable into certain apps (Hexchat, Kitty, Eclipse)
Hello,
My distribution (Pop_OS 19.10) updated GNOME Shell to 3.34.1 and I can no longer copy from or paste to any text input box in GNOME shell. I also cannot copy from any extension that uses the GTK2 clipboard APIs to add data to the clipboard.
I originally thought this was an issue with an extension, here is some additional debug info: https://github.com/maoschanz/emoji-selector-for-gnome/issues/88
But the author of the extension was able to reproduce the issue on Debian Sid with other GNOME extensions.
P.S. I'm not sure if this is a GNOME Shell issue or an issue with another project, please let me know if there is a more appropriate place to post this.
See @ronjouch's comment for a more precise repro and explanation: #1919 (comment 678063)
