Intellij 2019.2.4 on a dual-screen Pop-OS 19.10 is making Gnome Shell Crash
Hi, I am using Intellij 2019.2.4 Ultimate edition and it is crashing Gnome-shell. I have described the bug for the Intellij developers here: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/PY-38898?p=WEB-42317.
To repeat the referenced bug report, the steps to reproduce are:
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Idea Ultimate 2019.2 on Ubuntu (Pop-OS) 19.10, Python project
- Project View (ALT-1), module-settings (F4), SDK's
- Add new SDK (ALT-INS)
- Select Python SDK
- Select Docker Compose
- Select Configuration files (Shift Enter)
- make sure the sub-window is on the right (primary) screen
- Select Add (Alt-Insert) in the sub-window
- BOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM (Gnome-shell crashes)
It is an IntelNUC system (Systen76 Meerkat) with two screens (HDMI and DisplayPort) running PopOs 19.10. Fresh install (dont ask me why). No (!!!) special configurations or anything, i had to re-install the system in a hurry and get developing again.
I have attached the relevant part of my /var/log/syslog but the line you want to see is:
../src/core/window.c:5505:meta_window_get_workspaces: code should not be reached
Note that (as reported in the referenced bug-report) the bug is only triggered if the sub-window is on the right (primary) screen. It seems to be a dual-screen issue.
