Citrix: Screen unlocks without password on Skype Call
Hi
We have the problem that when we get a Skype Call in our Citrix XenDeskop Environment, the locked local screen will get unlocked without entering the password. Very ugly from a security point of view..
I try to explain the setup:
Local Client with Linux distribution installed. On Linux there is the "Citrix Receiver" and the "HDX Realtime Media Engine" installed. The Receiver is used to start a virtual desktop in the Datacenter. On this Desktop we have Skype for Business installed. As far everything works great until you install the Media Engine on local machine. I don't know exactly how the engine works but it is installed to optimize the telephony and interact with the local client, so that various connections go through the client and not through the data center.
We opened a Case at Citrix and they analyzed it. But it seems they can't fix it. They say it is a Problem with the OS, but we have it on different distributions. It looks like a problem with gnome. I hope the answer from Citrix give someone from you hint..
From Citrix:
Our Development team has looked into this and found out that our code for Real Time Media Engine (RTME) calls well defined APIs when there is incoming call and when the desktop is locked. According to implementation in case of incoming call, RTME will call: https://people.gnome.org/~mccann/gnome-screensaver/docs/gnome-screensaver.html#gs-method-SetActive with FALSE and https://people.gnome.org/~mccann/gnome-session/docs/gnome-session.html#org.gnome.SessionManager.Inhibitand expects the OS to do its task. There were already issues reported in past in fedora -- Similar bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1013721 and could be the same in debian too. This is specific to the OS and would need to engage the vendor involved.
Details: Citrix Receiver: Workspace App 1910 (ICA Client 10.10.0.15)
Addon: HDX Realtime Media Engine 2.8
Linux: Centos 8
Gnome: v3.28.2
