Shell at certain point becomes sluggish/less responsive
Hi, first of all, thank you for your effort and hard work you put into GNOME. I really appreciate it.
Speed of shell is fine when it's fresh open. But at certain point (didn't really spotted when exactly) the speed goes noticeably down. All elements of Shell are affected: Activites, Applications, manipulating windows (minimize, maximize, close), widgets in the tray or Dock from Dash to Dock which is set to hide and appear on hover.
Example of speed difference:
- Fresh - click on System Tray -> almost instantly appears
- Slow - click on System Tray -> roughly 0.3 sec delay before appearing
I used Sysprof and it pointed at /usr/lib64/libgobject-2.0.so.0.6000.3 gnome_lag_capture.syscap
I don't know how to use Valgrind and any other tool that could help. If needed you'll have to instruct me a bit.
My system: Fedora 30, GNOME 3.32.2 + gnome-with-patches COPR repo (the same behavior occured even before enabling the COPR)
