Upgraded Applications Menu returned ERROR and became defuncted in Ubuntu 18.04
How do I remove Applications Menu from Ubuntu 18.04 desktop's Menu Bar?
Background:
Recently, gnome prompted me that some new gnome extensions required upgrading. I dutifully clicked on the upgrade button. However, some of the extensions returned an "ERROR". Applications Menu was one of them. Then, It stopped working. I tried reinstalling it but it still had an error. Rebooted the system and tried the same solution but still had "ERROR". I even manually downloaded Applications Menu for Gnome ver 3.28 extension 38, ran sudo rm -rf /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/apps-menu@gnome-shell-extensions.gcampax.github.com
, and replaced it with the downloaded version. However, in https://extensions.gnome.org/local/
it still shows "ERROR".
Presently: Applications Menu still appears in the Ubuntu 18.04 desktop's Menu Bar in a defunct state, i.e. nothing happens when I click it. I want to remove it totally. How can I do so?
