housekeeping plugin does not clean "x-large" or "xx-large" thumbnails directories
The new thumbnail subdirectories x-large
and xx-large
were added to the thumbnail spec in 2020 and have been supported in gnome-desktop since GNOME 40, but they weren't really used until GNOME 43, when nautilus started to generate and use higher resolution thumbnails on systems with HiDPI screens.
The g-s-d housekeeper plugin was never updated to clean up the new directory names, it only goes up to large.
The end result is that when I was trying to figure out where disk space had gone on my system, i found out that I had 10GiB of x-large size thumbnails hanging around…
