"New connections must ask for access" setting: easy to accidentally deny access
I have my screen sharing settings configured in gnome-control-center such that "New connections must ask for access." With this enabled, I see a gnome-shell notification whenever a client attempts to connect, and the notification contains Allow/Deny options.
Once upon a time, that was probably OK. But nowadays, once the notification is displayed, there is no longer any way to access the Allow/Deny options. In my case, I moused over the notification and then accidentally moused out of it before clicking Allow. This is really easy to do by mistake. Now I have no way to accept the incoming connection: the connection is semi-permanently rejected (until I log out of gnome-shell and log in again), even though I never clicked Deny. There's just no way to get gnome-shell to display the options again.
I don't actually have any great ideas what to do about this, but a gnome-shell notification is clearly not appropriate for this anymore....
