Show warning (notification) when access tokens/passwords/credentials expire
I had experienced this (knowingly) two times at least. So this is what happened: 0. I've set up my Nextcloud account once in GNOME here.
- Using it for much stuff like calendar and TODO etc. without problems.
- Still using it.
- Noticing, after a while, that something is not in sync. Note this is hard to notice when you are not constantly using/looking at it, as all old events/calndar stuff etc. is still shown in GNOME Calendar and GNOME TODO etc.)
- Only then going to check in the the settings what is up and I see this:
IMHO, this is bad usability and maybe even more serious depending on what results such a problem can result in.
What should happen
Display a notification as soon as you notice the issue with "Your credentials for XY are expired. Do you want to sign in again?". Hiding this in the settings (with only a small[!] grey exclamation sign near it), when no one of the other applications gives any hint that something does not work, is really, really bad…
(Alternative mentioned in the sentence before: Third-party application could give hints. Maybe additionally? I am not sure about that.)
