Album art/thumbnail only shows in notification area if track already played in same session
Description
When I play a song in GNOME Music, the notification area's media player does not show its album art. This only affects GNOME Music. Podcasts in GNOME Podcasts show their thumbnail, as do videos in Firefox. I can reverse this, but only by playing a track, playing another track, and then playing the first track, which will show its album art. The issue will still affect any previously unplayed track. This behavior resets (occurs again) whenever GNOME Music has been opened and closed.
Steps To Reproduce
- Step 1: Open Music
- Step 2: Play song
- Step 3: Click top bar clock to open notification shade
- Step 4: Observe missing thumbnail/album art
- Step 5: Skip to next track
- Step 6: Repeat 3 and 4
- Step 7: Go back to previous track
- Step 8: Repeat 3 and 4 (but see album art/thumbnail properly)
- Step 9: In my screencast, I play another track to demonstrate only the first two have been 'fixed'
- Step 10: Close GNOME Music and repeat
Expected Behaviour
The thumbnail shows up
Actual Behaviour
No thumbnail shows up (except when the track has been played already)
