Adding more functionality to the Favorites Popover

Description
The favorites list is quite simple right now, and that's how it should stay imo, but adding a bit more intuitive functionality can be easily done without making it any more crowded at all.
Here's an idea I've been thinking on/trying:
Currently there's no way to pin multiple markers on the map (except routing), a functionality that would allow users to see places in relationship with each other. This would permit useful scenarios like:
- Pinning multiple vacation itineraries so as to have an overview of options.
- Pinning murder scene locations in order to make a screenshot of bad-ass movie-like serial killers map like this one xD: http://s24.postimg.org/7p6dtop9h/murder_Map.jpg
Here's a quick "mock-up" of how it would work: http://webm.land/media/Sh6g.webm
On each new selection, the map view is set on a new bounding box containing all selected items. The selection itself could be done in multiple ways as long as it doesn't make the menu crowded:
- Multiple-Selection offered by the gtklistbox(just like in the video i posted above ) using Control+Click or maybe RightClick
- Enabling checkboxes by rightclicking(or something else) and then checking/un-checking items( similar to how gnome-contacts/gnome-documents handle their items ). This would also make adding a Delete button very intuitive. Here's a mock-up: http://s21.postimg.org/mjddtjozb/checkbox.png
- Others?
I consider deleting bookmarks directly from the list to also be a good addition, since going to each place individually on the map in order to un-favorite them could prove to be quite a hassle when one is doing a bookmarks "clean-up".
Do you guys also think this would be useful?
