Fails to identify installed font, thus "Install" button remains active
This is similar to the problem detailed in issue #21, but instead of remaining active only briefly, the "Install" button remains active indefinitely, even when font is successfully installed. Repeatedly clicking the "Install" button results in duplicate .ttf files, with each duplicate preceded by a number.
I encountered this problem when trying to install the Merriweather fonts using GNOME Fonts version 42.0 running through Flatpak on Pop_OS 22.04. Font installation for most of the fonts in the family was successful, but for Merriweather-Italic.ttf
, Merriweather-UltraBdIt.ttf
, and Merriweather UltraBold.ttf
, this problem occurred. After clicking "Install", the .ttf file would appear in the correct directory, and then the "Install" button would reappear. Clicking "Install" again would result in a duplicate .ttf file with the filename preceded by a number which increased on each subsequent installation. Below is a video of this behavior occurring.
I understand the need to allow different fonts with the same filename to install by renaming the files in the destination folder. Thus, I suspect that the program is mistakenly treating the previously-installed file as different from the file which is being newly installed. I will try to investigate further.
