Steps to reproduce:
- Have a single application play some audio, for example some music player application such as DeaDBeeF
- Open GNOME Settings
- Go to the "Sound" section
- Open "Volume Levels"
- Observe that the only volume gauge / sound meter that indicates audio being played is not the one at the slider for your application, but at some other, unrelated slider
