Gnome Settings -> Wacom Tablet -> Map Buttons -> Assign Keystroke ignores selected modifier keys
In the Wacom Tablet section of Gnome Settings, I have mapped buttons to a keystroke consisting of 2 modifier keys and a letter. However when I press the buttons on my tablet, the modifier keys are ignored and the currently focused application receives the letter key.
For example, I have created the following custom shortcuts in Gnome:
I wish to execute these shortcuts by pressing a button on my tablet, so I have assigned the shortcut keystrokes to buttons - see the last 3 buttons in the screenshot below (apologies for the blurry photo but Gnome screenshot doesn't seem to work on the Map Buttons settings UI):
The keyboard shortcuts are tested and work as expected, but when I press the corresponding button on the Wacom tablet, only the letter key is sent to the currently focused application. So if I press the last button in the screenshot above, which should send the keystroke '<Shift><Alt>e' it only sends 'E' Please note that it is an upper-case letter although the tablet button setting shows a lower-case letter, which may be significant?
I have also noticed that the reported names of the modifier keys pressed are not consistent throughout in the Map Buttons UI. First I press Left Shift and see 'SHIFT_L' in the input box. Continuing to hold shift, I then press Left Alt and the input box then shows '<Shift>Meta_L'. Lastly, I press the letter e on the keyboard and the input box shows '<Shift><Alt>e'.
