Rename `Remote Login` to `SSH Access`
The sharing panel provides multiple items, two of these are Remote Desktop
and Remote Login
.
The former one provides settings for gnome-remote-desktop, a remote desktop daemon, which currently only provides remote assistance (headless sessions (that also includes remote login via a remote session) are not implemented yet (still in the works)).
The latter one is just for enabling or disabling the SSH service.
From time to time, I've been sometimes looking through help requests of askubuntu, and seldom through reddit posts about the remote desktop service in GNOME.
One of the confusions is that a lot of people ignore the wiki, that headless sessions are not implemented yet.
In addition to that, it is perceived, that the Remote Login
setting is part of Remote Desktop
option, which is not the case.
As a result, people think, that activating Remote Login
in addition to Remote Desktop
magically makes headless sessions work, which is however not the case.
I think, what needs to be done is to mark the Remote Login
section clearly as what it actually is: SSH Access
