Win+Space layout switching works inconsistently in apps under Wayland
The default Win+Space shortcut for keyboard layout switching works incorrectly in GNOME Weather, but correctly e.g. in text Editor.
- Open GNOME Settings, the Keyboard panel
- Make sure that English (US) and Russian keyboard layouts are there, and the default Win+Space shortcut is used for switching them
- Open Text Editor. Press A, Win+Space, A, Win+Space, A, get AФA, as expected - i.e. the shortcut works every single time from the first try.
- Open GNOME Weather. Try to add a city, it will show a test edit field so that you can search for the name of the city. Try typing letters and pressing Win+Space.
The result is that pressing Win+Space in the edit field provided by GNOME Weather flashes the popup showing the names of the layout, but does not actually switch anything - unless you press it twice. The need to press Win+Space twice to switch the keyboard layout is a bug. As mentioned, there is something special in GNOME Weather, different from GNOME Text Editor, so that the bug manifests itself in one but not the other.
