Handling of faulty hardware
Sadly we have no control over the hardware we run on. Sometimes good hardware decays. Sometimes people use GNOME on really bad hardware. Sometimes manufacturers put one nugget of trash hardware - say, a Wi-Fi adapter, or a slightly broken USB connector - in an otherwise good product.
We usually design for operational hardware, obviously, but I wonder if and how we should deal with potentially bad hardware that is transparent to us. An example for this is a Wi-Fi adapter that is technically functioning, but is practically unusable, or just not good enough (#2319). I assume neither the kernel nor NetworkManager can detect that.
