Online accounts: Nextcloud: Hint to nextcloud settings page for password generation
The dialog to setup a nextcloud account will leave less experienced users in the dark as their real username + password is not being accepted. Users should be hinted to a website where they can get an "app password" instead.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open GNOME Settings
- Switch to "Online accounts" page
- Click "Nextcloud" to add new nextcloud account
- Enter your nextcloud instance's URL, username and password
What happens: Login fails. Error message:
Error connecting to Nextcloud server:
Authentication failed
What should happen:
GNOME control center should give my a hint (preferably before inserting my account password) that Nextcloud has the concept of per-app passwords. The account password will not be accepted as password in g-o-a. Instead, the user should get their password from the url https://[nextcloud instance]/settings/user/security
.
Additional info: The URL for the settings page could be auto-generated from the first field (URL inserted).
