Always show known Wi-Fi networks at the top when in range
Environment: gnome p 1:3.38+3 byzantium , phosh 0.17.0-1pureos1, mobile, 720x1440.
Feature request: Perform the following sorting rules on Wifi Visible Network list.
- always show known networks at the top (in addition of having the option to select/filter on known networks from menue)- if these are scanned and in range,
- always sort other unknown visible networks when last discovered descending order.
Benefit:
- As it is currently designed the network list updates every ~15 seconds, moving known and unknown networks up and down on the list and making it very difficult to select the network the user wants to connect to;
- Probability of wanting to connect to a known network is higher than to an unknown network,
- Since networks first discovered will show first these also are likely to be near and broadcasting loudly;
- Once known networks are found and user connects to a network disable active network scanning, should really only be active when searching for wifi, not when already connected (which will save resources, prevent unnecessary updating of list, will make it more secure by reducing broadcasting handshakes etc);
- While on desktops with lots of space and CPU/Wifi resources this may be ok, when trying to use selection via touch input on a small screen with limited CPU, Wifi resources it does not work well.
