Sound: Volume Mute buttons icons do not update when mute is toggled with a hotkey on the keyboard
Steps to reproduce:
- Open GNOME Settings
- Select "Sound" pane
- Scroll so that the "Input" part of the Sound capplet is visible
- Now toggle the devices microphone on/off using a mic-mute hotkey on the keyboard (this can be tested on most thinkpads, a lot of other devices don't have a mic-mute hotkey)
Actual result:
The mute toggle button which sits after / to the right of the Input Volume slider turns from not selected to selected (off to on) and back again but the icon on the button stays the same
Expected result:
The mute toggle button not only turns from not selected to selected (and back again on the next toggle). But the icon also updates between a speaker with sound coming from it to a speaker with a X next to it, as happens when clicking the button.
I just realized that this also reproduces with the "System Volume" and pressing a normal volume-mute toggle hotkey on the keyboard, which can be found on a lot more keyboards, making this easier to reproduce.
I'm seeing this on Fedora 34, which atm is still at gnome-control-center-3.38.3-2.fc34.x86_64.
