When trying to unlock printer menu in gnome-control-center, nothing happens

open prefs open printer
What happened
you see "unlock" which is not greyed out, when you click, nothing happens. No unlock "enter your password" request appears.
What did you expect to happen
Request to enter password.
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
Cups is running on opening the prefs , this happens:
