Fails silently if system EDS version doesn't match Flatpak EDS version
In currently-released versions of Endless OS, we have Evolution 3.32. The Calendar Flatpak is currently built against EDS 3.34. If you run it on Endless, it silently shows no events. The following is shown in the journal:
(gnome-calendar:3): GcalManager-WARNING **: 11:27:29.847: on_client_connected: Failed to open/connect 'thompson@endlessm.com': Unable to connect to “thompson@endlessm.com”: The name org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.Calendar7 was not provided by any .service files
While the next Endless release will have EDS 3.34, it's somewhat likely that a Debian stable or RHEL user will install Calendar ≥ 3.34 from Flatpak but have EDS ≤ 3.32 and have no way to update it. Perhaps a banner with “Unfortunately, a component on your computer is too old for Calendar to operate. [More Info Link]” could be useful?
