[i18n] wrong date formats depending on locale/language setting
I noticed the formatting of some date/time strings is left to translators, this approach however does not work for users who use a different language from their formatting options.
As an example, the quick popover dialog on selecting a daterange: it formats as "New Event from to ". With my language/format settings as english/dutch it actually should be "New Event from to ". The first option is currently hardcoded by default and left to translators to get right, however I don't use the translated strings.
So, I consider this approach wrong. However, as it currently stands glibs localization functionality doesn't allow for this particular formatting (day-of-month + month-name) and I haven't investigated to what extent eg. glibc supports it.
The alternative approach would be to only use supported formatting (so in this case maybe the full %F (y/m/d) formatting instead, which can be properly formatted.
Another example of this problem in action is bug #762068 .
