Add function to calculate dates
Hi!
I will post a € 10,- bounty, for the person who realizes this features as described in this issue.
The link to the available bounty: Link
This are the features that I love to see added to the Gnome calculator:
Feature 1:
- The user puts in 2 dates, whereof 1 start-date and 1 end-date.
- The application should show how much days are between the start-date and the end-date.
- The application should be able to deal with leap years, when making the calculation.
- The application should show how many leap days are within the range of the start-date and the end-date.
Feature 2:
- The user puts in 1 date, and the amount of days that should be added to that date.
- The application should return a result that shows what date it is, after the given days are being added to the given start date.
- The application should be able to deal with leap years, when making the calculation.
Feature 3:
- The user puts in 1 date, and the amount of days that should be subtracted from that date.
- The application should return a result that shows what date it is, after the given days are being subtracted from the given start date.
- The application should be able to deal with leap years, when making the calculation.
The bounty will be paid out once:
- All of the features are realized.
- All of the features are usable, and sustainable for a active production environment.
- The code is well formed, using good practices for coding.
- A complete merge request is submitted to this repository. (making it open-source)
The bounty will not expire, so whoever makes these features first, gets the bounty.
Why I give a bounty
I know € 10,- is not much. But I believe in open-source software. Open source is freedom, copyright is the limitation thereof.
Copyright decreases transparency; and thereby reduces privacy, freedom and security.
Open-source doesn't depend on big data collections, to be able to exist.
It is based in the community, in the people.
Since every commit for open-source could make software better, everyone will benefit in the end. That's why I want to make a contribution to even better open-source software.
Because open-source benefits all of the people, instead of just a small group of people.
If you have question, feel free to ask.
