Creating raspi-image-aarch64 takes a long time
It takes a long time to create raspi-image-aarch64. For example, this unfinished pipeline has been running for two hours now: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-build-meta/pipelines/175229
I'm not massively familiar with BuildStream and how it caches things yet, so forgive me if I've misunderstood this.
I think a lot of the time in this pipeline is spent downloading all the Raspberry Pi firmware. I wonder if it's possible to tell BuildStream to only download certain files (Raspberry Pi 4 only) via the github raw files interface.
Also, it has spent a lot of time - and is currently still on, at the time of writing - the following:

Creating cache bst-master-1...
/builds/GNOME/gnome-build-meta/cache/buildstream/sources/: found 549 matching files
ources/: found 549 matching files
I don't know if this is expected.
