Youtube video unpauses when bluetooth headset is connected
Affected version
Debian testing, Gnome 43.4, Wayland
Bug summary
When I connect a bluetooth headset, and in some Firefox tab I have a paused Youtube video, then the video unpauses. This is probably considered a feature by some, but I don't like this behavior because I often have half-played video(s) in some background tabs and it was certainly not my intention to watch them when I connected the bluetooth headset.
Unfortunately despite intensive search I could not figure out which part of the stack is even responsible for this behavior. All I know is that I switched from pulseaudio + KDE (where nothing like this happened) to pipewire + Gnome and now I am seeing this behavior. Firefox and the headset are the same as before so I can exclude those from the list. I also tried to find a setting to disable this (in the audio and bluetooth gnome settings) but was unsuccessful. I am kind of lost so I hope reporting this against Gnome will indicate some new directions for exploring this problem.
Steps to reproduce
- Pause a youtube video in Firefox
- Connect a previously set-up bluetooth headset
What happened
- The video is unpaused
What did you expect to happen
- No unpausing of anything
