FreeBSD kqueue file monitor fixes: the simple parts

Moved from !57 (merged).

This merge request includes simple fixes for file monitor tests to run on FreeBSD. A follow-up patch of https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=794528 is also included in order to reduce the possibility of using the bad and slow fallback polling file monitor, which often results in bad user experience.
