It was a pleasant surprise to discover that cppcheck has some GLib and GTK-specific rules that you can activate! In the outdated version of cppcheck that we are currently running, it doesn't catch much, but it will be more effective when we upgrade to a newer version of cppcheck in !531 (merged).
