Feature: Hide meaningless branches

Description
I really like the railroad diargam to compare branches, that's my primary use for gitg. I use that to plan rebases and merges from remotes, so I select "All branches" in the history filter. However. in some projects, I could really use some finer-grained control over which branches to show.
It would help me a lot if I could provide (ideally via CLI option) a list of exactly which branches to compare. With that I could let a wrapper script solve the more advanced filter stuff like "branches that match one of these glob patterns but none of these perl regexps", which I'll mostly use to ignore branches maintained by git-annex.
