Ubuntu packaging: gitg crashes shortly after startup
Doing nothing special. Since today, if I just start gitg, it crashes after a few seconds. Without me doing anything with it. If I start it from the command line, I see the following error message.
❯ gitg
(gitg:6569): Gdk-ERROR **: 14:38:12.658: The program 'gitg' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 22307 error_code 11 request_code 130 (MIT-SHM) minor_code 5)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment
variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
fish: Job 1, 'gitg' terminated by signal SIGTRAP (Trace or breakpoint trap)
My system info:
❯ inxi -S
System:
Host: estornel Kernel: 5.15.0-58-generic x86_64 bits: 64
Desktop: KDE Plasma 5.24.7 Distro: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish)
Gitg was install from Ubuntu repos. I've just reinstalled it as Flatpak via Flathub, and so far it's stable.
