Drop Shadow bug with inner/negative number
(GIMP 2.10.xx && GIMP 2.99.16)
There is a long standing bug in the GEGL Drop Shadow (Filters > Light and Shadow > Drop Shadow...) and this on all operating system all GIMP version, that would be nice to "finally" fix.
Reproducible? ALWAYS
Purpose:
- Drawing an outline inside (inner outline)
- Inner shadow to give a deeper depth to an engraving text
- Inner glow of any opaque surrounded by transparency
- Hiding a badly made cut out
- Smoothing inward edges
- countless application, and purpose because of the options "Circle / Diamond / Square" when stroking a selection or path can become cumbersome when it would be so easy using this Drop Shadow filter if the bug was fixed.
Setting of the filters:
- X and Y sliders at 0.00
- Blur radius slider at 0.00
- Grow radius slider in negative (-1 to -max / minus 1 to minus max)
Expected result:
- Inner outline growing inward as opposite of positive number outline growing outward
Actual Result:
- Nothing is happening with negative number, we cannot made an inline "outline"
Example creation of an outline 9the yellow outline
GIMP 2.10.34 bug inability to create a negative/inner-outline with negative number
GIMP 2.99.16 bug with inner/negative number as well
