Flipflop and Mirror Dynamic Setting for Brushes
Operating System: Windows
Description of the feature
Use cases
Situation:
I make Lots of Brushes for Gimp. Many times I have to make brushes to achieve options that are not in Gimp.
Like Recently, I had to make a .gih Brush to make a FlipFlop a Heart to make a Pattern. That took about a hour to do. Much of it was Guide lines, figuring out the exact spacing of Guide lines by measuring and pasting a rectangle of the same spacing. So half way through I was like, "Why don't I make a brush to do that?" and I did. But I was like does that mean I would have to make similar brushes to that for a lot of my brushes? That takes up Loading time to do all that. So Far I make several brushes for one brush. e.g. >
So the New "Dynamic" would be called "Flipflop" this option when selected by dynamics would allow user to have a selected brush to Flipflop Up and Down the Brush. Meaning the brush option will go back and forth (Angle) between 0 ° to 180 °. painting the shape right side up and upside down over and over how ever far you drag it on area.
Why? This allow the Gimp User to Select a Brush of any shape to make Borders, Patterns for backgrounds and More.
This Feature also would help the Clipboard Image (Top Left of Paint Brush Tab) which can be selected, as a Brush, would make various projects a lot faster. (Clipboard Image would be only one Layer on "Dynamic Gimp Brush" tab.
**While I Was Thinking: **
We really do need a New Brush Type. Like a "Dynamic Gimp Brush or .dgb" This Brush would have Layers in which the user can select what they would like each layer to do. So for a "Dynamic Gimp Brush" it would have it's own tab. The tab would show the what layers (how ever many the brush has) and a drop down Selection on the right each layer. Options like "Disable" (meaning is excludes that layer of the Brush) "Flipflop" 0° to 180° Angle Up and Down. "Mirror" "Tilt" "Perspective" and other options
As I rethink this...... Tilt and Flipflop options would just be "Limiting the angle to X on either side" both would be two Static Angles ...... So Dynamic Tilt: Max Angle between (-90°, 0, +90°) , So Random: Tilt + FlipFlop would be Tilt at a Angle lets say -75° and adding Flipflop would be -105° meaning in pairs it will select any Random Angle then the Opposite to that Angle.
(Tilt should be a New Option as I posted about before and "Tilt" for Pens for Tablets should be called "Slant" Tilt Should be a Dynamic )
Feel free to let me know what you think about this.
