GIMP hangs (does not respond to mouse events), refuses to restart
Environment/Versions
- GIMP version: 2.10.34
- Package: Installer from gimp.org
- Operating System: Windows
Description of the bug
The first attempt to use this GIMP version: Opened two images, did a little processing like color curves and re-scaling, then tried to save them. At some point GIMP just stopped reacting to mouse events. When I tried to rescale the main window, nothing happened for a long time (see blue marks). Then I decided to terminate it by closing the window.
The window closed, but GIMP could not be restarted. As it turned out, there were two GIMP processes still in the task list. I managed to create a dump, but that seems to be 2GB in size! After terminating the processes, I could restart GIMP, but failed to reproduce the issue!
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Happened only once
Expected result: No Hang
Actual result: GIMP hangs and needs to be aborted
Additional information
When the problem happened, there was some disk activity caused by a backup being run concurrently. Unsure whether that is relevant.
