GIMP 2.10.34: Using any filter resulting in crashes
Environment/Versions
- GIMP version:
- Package: apt
- Operating System: Ubuntu 22.04
Description of the bug
Once again, GIMP crashes if you try to use any filter. Usually Drop Shadow or Bump Map.
Someone told me to install and run the latest version of GIMP, i.e. the latest development version and not stable version. So I installed GIMP 2.10.34 and used the filters again. It still crashed.
Even with tricks I used to get crash messages like --verbose
or -c --g-fatal-warnings --verbose --gegl-disable-opencl
, it didn't work. The terminal disappeared once GIMP crashes.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Open GIMP (optional options:
-c --g-fatal-warnings --verbose --gegl-disable-opencl
). - Open a file, choose a filter (usually Drop Shadow or Bump Map). If you choose Bump Map, proceed to step 3.
- Try to create a bump map.
Expected result: After selecting a layer as an "aux input", one can move the mouse as if nothing happened.
Actual result: GIMP hangs and crashes.
Additional information
If you have a backtrace for a crash or a warning, paste it here. Can't, because GIMP crashed before I got the backtrace.
