Cannot open (jpg) file within /tmp directory.

Description of the bug
I copied two jpg files to /tmp directory as I just wanted to make some changes within them and forward them, without keeping them. However, gimp is not able to open a file within the /tmp directory.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
Via Nautilus:
- Find a jpg file with Nautilus within /tmp directory.
- Select the file, open a context menu via the right mouse, choose the "Open With Other Application".
- Select "GNU Image Manipulation Program".
- Gimp start with an error "Opening ... failed" (see the screenshot below):
Via Gimp itself:
- Start Gimp.
- Try to open a file within /tmp directory from menu
/File/Open/
. - Gimp cannot see any jpg file (see the screenshot below):

Expected result:
Opening the file I wish to.
Actual result:
Cannot open the file I wish to.
