Have a way to quickly determine the selection level of a pixel
Operating System: All
Description of the feature
In the Pointer dialog (and perhaps the Sample points), beside RGBA we introduce an "S" value which is the selection level of the pixel under the pointer (or of the sample point).
Use cases
For debug or explanatory purposes it is useful to determine/show the selection level of pixels.
-
The current "Selection editor" is pointless, you can't get the coordinate of a pixel in it...
-
Exploring the quickmask with the Pointer dialog requires to be good at math...
-
The only usable way
- "Select > Save to channel"
- make the channel visible
- explore with the pointer.
But you have to redo the "Save to channel" after each modification of the selection.
I don't see the point of displaying the selection bounding box in the pointer dialog. That should be in the selection editor?
