Color choosers choose in sRGB
- Open/Create an image.
- Assign a profile with a space bigger than sRGB, typically assign AdobeRGB.
- Now click the foreground color box to choose a new color.
- Take the redder red. Basically on the fields at the right will be written 100.0, 0.0, 0.0.
- Now paint with this red.
- Finally color pick it it in
Pixel
mode.
If your image was in 8-bit integer for instance, you'd expect to get 255, 0, 0. But I get 219, 0, 0! So I chose the redder red but it was not the redder red (it was the redder sRGB red)! It is currently not possible to paint outside sRGB, unless you pick the color from an existing image, I guess. In other words, it's bad.
