Tilt(opacity) dynamic working with a restrict range (0 to 4% opacity only)
Environment/Versions
- GIMP version: 2.10.28
- Package: Flatpak
- Operating System: Linux Fedora 35 Gnome X11
Description of the bug
The tilt in the function of the opacity is working with a restricted range: the max opacity obtained is 4% of the total range. The incorrect range is also present on the two blend modes, default (perceptive) and legacy (linear) and the max opacity obtained is always 4%.
Reproduction
Always with the matrix tilt versus opacity on.
Reproduction steps:
- create a new paint dynamic;
- enable only the paint dynamic matrix the tilt x opacity, set the default curve (linear);
- use a parametric brush, for instance, '2. Hardness 100';
- set the black colour at 100%;
- in the white canvas bring the stylus (need to have the tilt feature) and positioning vertically, do a stroke and measure the opacity (4%):
- now incline the stylus, +- 60 degrees, and do another stroke, measure the opacity (~2%)
…
Expected result: 1) the stylus vertically positioned must have 100% opacity as output; 2) the stylus inclined, on the max tilt (~60 degrees for my case) must have 0% of the maximum range opacity.
Actual result: 1) we have only 4%; 2) we have approximately 2%.
Additional information
The test was made with two kinds of blends, default and legacy, and I have obtained the same result. But the output was minimal and is difficult to be sure if really the two blends have the same behaviour.
