Rotating or scaling a layer mask causes reboot most of the time
I'm using the latest GIMP (28) adn WIN 10. When I try to rotate a pic that has a layer mask, most of the time it's fast until about 3/4 or more into the process and then it freezes. I use the paintbrush to erase about 90% of the pic, leaving only the face. Pics that aren't layer masks don't have this problem. Also when I try to scale the layer mask that many times freezes also.
When the crash happens to me on my older internet computer, I use remote desktop to my more powerful computer and rotate always works. The crash always happens when I try rotate on a layer that has a layer mask. Of course if I apply the mask that will solve the problem too.
I assume the problem is running our of RAM. This happens fairly often when I export a PNG. I always use 2 not 9 in the export box to help prevent crashes.
When I say crash, what I really mean is my computer goes black and I have to reboot. Under Control panel/System/startup and recovery, I have auto restart unchecked under System Failure. So I assume this is a RAM issue
I wish GIMP would make allowances for older computer that have 8 gigs of RAM and in that case use less RAM and slow down the rotate, so at least it won't crash.
