Text tool: when selecting text with multiple fonts, the font of the selected text will change
Environment/Versions
- GIMP version: 2.10.28
- Package: manjaro packages, installer from gimp.org (via chocolatey)
- Operating System: Linux (manjaro/KDE), Windows
Description of the bug
When trying to select a section of text that contains two different fonts, the selected text will get transformed into unwanted font — specifically, the first font that has a name starting with "Standard". (Note that the first line of the following example combined the fonts in the same manner)
If no such font is installed on the system, the font of the selection will not be changed ... but not for the lack of trying (red text 'Standard' in the font name box indicates that GIMP tried to change the font of the selection but failed because no such font exists).
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Have a font with a name that starts with
Standard
- Have a text box that uses two different fonts
- Select text in the text tool in such a way that selection covers two different fonts
…
Expected result: Text is selected. Font of the selected text is not modified.
Actual result: Font of the selected text is modified.
