Usability problem with obsolete color profile: Where is it defined?
Environment/Versions
- GIMP version: 2.10.28 (and older)
- Package: Installer from gimp.org
- Operating System: Windows 10 (64 bit)
Description of the bug
I had this bug in the last few releases, so I think it's time to report it:
When staring GIMP I get a message that some color profile (AdobeRGB1998.icc, see attachment) could not be loaded.
The usability issue is that I cannot find where that color profile is referenced. I had checked the setting for color managment and the system folders. The directory could not be found anywhere.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Open GIMP
- (See Popup message)
- Check Settings
Expected result: The color profile mentioned should be found, and it should be changeable.
Actual result: The color profile mentioned cannot be found, so it cannot be changed.
Additional information
The problem was caused most likely by removing Apple Quicktime (which is no longer maintained).
Grepping the GIMP setting folder manually I found the setting as color-profile
in gimprc
.
