Matte Black ink selection fails for Epson P800 with Gimp 2.10.22 on MacOS
Environment/Versions
- GIMP version: 2.10.22
- Package: Gimp DMG from the bitorrent link.
- Operating System: MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
When printing an image on plain paper Gimp insists on switching to Photo Black ink even when Matte Black ink is selected in the Advanced Tab of the print dialog. Description of the bug
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Reproducible on 2.10.22 as well as 2.10.6 and every other stable release of GIMP I've tried.
Reproduction steps:
- Open a file.
- Select Print
- On the Advanced Tab select Plain Paper and Matte Black Ink
…
Expected result: The file is printed.
Actual result: The printer puts up a dialog asking to switch to the "black ink specified by the printer driver" (Photo Black).
Additional information
Switching inks is very expensive in terms of the amount of ink wasted. Gimp is therefor useless for plain paper printing.
