Fatal error when closing files within the program
Had two large tiff files open in the program. Closed one by clicking the "x" button, and then hit command-D to confirm closure. Did the same for the second and the program crashed. It's something I've done a thousand times before as I'm processing and cropping sections of a large number of images - but it didn't like it this time.
