data layer - for scripts
Operating System: All
Add a data layer
Be able to add a layer to an image that is just data, a number for example. This then allows you to save image processing parameters with the image.
(gimp-image-insert-data-layer img layer value parent position)
For example, create a folder named "LevelsThatILikeToday" In that folder add a data layer called "gamma", double click it to store a number.
Then a script can search for the group and layer, recover the data and apply it.
I've been doing this using the offset data for a layer. But that's not ideal.
Also data layers should be able to have the same name if they are in a different group. For multiple settings.
This is bit like presets, but associated with a file and scripter friendly.
